On October 25, 2026, the Gen. and the seminarians of the School of Formation of Mariapolis Peace joined the PAG-ASA Social Center, and they went to Laurel, Batangas, to have an immersion program for the National Day of Charity, a meaningful activity centered on the spirit of Heal, Help, and Hope.

During the immersion, the participants visited several houses to understand the situations and to offer support according to their needs, including food, essential supplies, and financial assistance. Beyond providing material help, the visits became opportunities to listen to their stories, to share their struggles, and to offer encouragement.

A family also shared how they try to provide through education and the needs of their children for a better future. They are hoping to find opportunities for employment, business ventures, and scholarships to help their children finish college. Their story reminded everyone how even small acts of generosity can open doors for hope and create opportunities for a brighter future.

The experience also deepened the Gen’s understanding of Chiara Lubich’s “Ten Points for Living Charity,” especially the call to love others by making ourselves one with them and by understanding their needs, sharing their burdens, and recognizing their dignity.

Meanwhile, the Gen and the seminarians went to the Agoncillo Barangay Hall and prepared a fun game for the children, filling the day with laughter, excitement, and joyful participation. The children eagerly joined the activities and showed their enthusiasm, creativity, and abilities, making the gathering even more memorable.

As the program came to an end, heartfelt farewells from the children left a lasting impression on everyone. The experience became a reminder that charity is not simply about giving material things; it is also about sharing our time, listening with compassion, and offering genuine care and love.

Through this, the Gen and the seminarians discovered that when we choose to love through concrete actions, we do more than help others because we become bearers of hope, bringing warmth and dignity to every person we meet.
